General Motors’ EV ambitions are among the strongest in the auto industry, and the Detroit company has developed a new vehicle architecture to support its growing electric product line. The GMC Hummer EV was the first to use Ultium technology, but GM has several others in line, including the upcoming Chevrolet Equinox EV. It promises to be one of the most affordable EVs when it arrives in late 2023, and the five-seater will be available with up to 300 miles of range on a charge.
Chevrolet announced several trims for the Equinox EV. The original base model has been cut from the lineup in favor of other, better-equipped models. The Equinox EV trim lineup for 2024 includes 2LT, 3LT, 2RS, and 3RS. Front-wheel drive is standard and yields the best range, while all-wheel drive is available for an extra charge and a range penalty of about 20 miles.
The 2024 Equinox EV price starts at $34,995. It’s worth noting that the EV will be eligible for federal tax credits, and in 2024, the rules will change to allow credits to be applied at the time of the sale instead of waiting until the end of the year.
The 2024 Equinox EV will be available in five trim levels.
