2026 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray

Performance

The 2026 Corvette E-Ray starts with the Stingray’s naturally aspirated 495-hp 6.2-liter V8. To this, it adds a 160-hp, 125 lb-ft electric motor mounted in the front and powering the front wheels, which draws its energy from a 1.1 kWh lithium-ion battery with liquid cooling. The result is a total system power rating of 655 horsepower and 595 lb-ft of torque. With the electric motor powering the front wheels, this is the only Corvette ever to have all-wheel drive for true all-weather performance. The hybrid system is paired with the same 8-speed dual-clutch transmission found in the rest of the Corvette model line.

It is worth noting that the electric motor delivers full torque instantly. The result is a Corvette with acceleration only seconds behind the mighty ZR1. 0-60 takes 2.5 seconds, and it reaches the quarter mile in 10.6 seconds at 128 mph.

The E-Ray hybrid system is designed for performance rather than fuel savings. While its fuel economy is 16 city, 24 highway, and 19 combined, nearly identical to the Stingray’s, you are getting performance figures similar to, and in some cases better than, the Z06, which is down 3-4 mpg in all figures.

To take advantage of its all-weather performance, the E-Ray is fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport All-Season 4 tires that remain pliant and sticky when the mercury drops. Michelin Pilot Sport 4S summer tires are a $500 option.

Exterior

The E-Ray is available in both coupe and convertible body styles. Both offer open-air driving, with the coupe featuring a removable roof. The convertible opens up the rear as well, with a fully retractable hard top. The E-Ray shares the ZR1’s widebody design with gaping air intakes and beefy rear fenders. Wheel sizes are staggered, with 20-inch wheels up front and 21-inch wheels in the rear. The E-Ray is most easily identifiable in the Corvette model line by its body-color side-intake trim.

Interior

The biggest news for 2026 is a new dash design. Gone is the long line of controls that divided the driver and passenger, with most controls moved to the dashboard center or elsewhere in the center console, all within easy reach of the driver. Three screens face the driver, including a 14-inch digital display directly ahead, configurable for Tour, Sport, and Track display designs. There is a 12.7-inch touchscreen to the right and a unique 6.6-inch touchscreen to the left. The steering wheel has a flattened bottom and top, enabling better straight-ahead visibility and room to move your legs, respectively. Repositioned HVAC vents, cupholders, and ambient lighting all contribute to an environment worthy of the E-Ray’s price.

Technology

The center screen can display Apple CarPlay and Android Auto interfaces wirelessly, and music from Bluetooth, SiriusXM radio, or HD radio plays through either a 10-speaker or a 14-speaker audio system.

The infotainment screen is a responsive unit with bright, crisp graphics. Snappy operation aside, Chevrolet’s infotainment software is intuitive and quick to use, making driving less distracting. On the 2LZ, the small touchscreen to the left of the steering wheel controls the Performance and video recorders, which include:

• Recording of real-time performance data to play back, share, and analyze your driving experiences on either the center screen or in an SD card to be viewed elsewhere.
• Includes in-vehicle speed tips, data analysis, and live lap delta time
• Track Overlay records video, audio, and synchronized performance data, including speed, rpm, g-force, track maps, lap times, and start/finish line
• Windshield-mounted 1080p HD camera module captures video and audio of drives
• Video, audio, and performance data can be replayed on the color touch screen or saved on an SD memory card for analysis or playback on your computer or mobile device
• Sport Overlay has simplified data, such as speed and g-force, to your video
• Timers overlay records performance data: 0 to 60 mph, 1/4-mile speed and elapsed time, as well as 0-to-100-to-0 runs
• Valet mode provides peace of mind by recording video and data when your vehicle is not in your control

Safety

It is easier to enjoy the E-ray’s enhanced performance when you know you are supported by advanced safety systems. In addition to large carbon-fiber brakes, sophisticated traction control, and, of course, airbag systems, the E-ray features Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Alert, and Front Pedestrian and Bicyclist Braking. There is configurable traction control, and, of course, ABS backing those carbon-ceramic brakes. The 2LZ comes with a Head-up display to keep you from looking down for key information, as well as Blind-Zone Alert and Rear Cross-traffic Alert.
