2024 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison

Chevrolet debuted the all-new Colorado mid-size pickup in 2023 with significant upgrades and firsts. With its advanced 2.7-liter Turbocharged Inline-4 that comes in Turbo, Turbo Plus, and High Output designations, max towing ability of up to 7,700 lbs, and standard Chevy Safety Assist, it’s no wonder that people are buying it over the likes of the Ford Ranger, Nissan Frontier, and Jeep Gladiator. 

All-New ZR2 Bison

All-new for 2024 is the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison, with the aforementioned 2.7-liter motor that is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The High Output moniker for the ZR2 Bison means it has 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque, with all that torque being available from just 3000 rpm. Four-wheel drive and a 2-speed transfer case are standard. 

AEV Partnership

Developed in a partnership with American Expedition Vehicles (AEV), the Colorado ZR2 Bison is the pinnacle off-road truck in its segment, with class-first multimatic front and rear Jounce Control Dampers, power locking front and rear differentials, a 38.2-degree approach angle, 26-degree departure angle, and 26.9-degree breakover angle, all class bests, along with best-in-class 12.2-inch ground clearance. Boron steel skid plates and rocker protectors also come standard, giving the Bison the best underbody protection of any truck in this class. 

Exclusivity

The ZR2 Bison also includes a series of AEV-exclusive features, such as a heavy-duty winch capable front bumper, special rear bumper and fender flares, 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels with exclusive 35-inch OD mud/terrain tires, and a distinctive interior with AEV badges on the headrests and all-weather floor mats. 

Usability

With the capability to tow up to 5,500 lbs and haul 1,050 lbs in the bed, the ZR2 Bison can be used for pretty much any task, and it will happily complete it. 

Amazing Tech & Safety

Even with its monstrous off-road credentials, the Colorado ZR2 Bison still comes with great technology and safety features. An 11.3” touchscreen infotainment display and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. Also standard is Chevy Safety Assist, which provides the ZR2 Bison with automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane-keep assist with lane departure warning, following distance indicator, forward collision warning, and IntelliBeam auto high beams. You can also option adaptive cruise control and a WiFi hotspot.
