2024 Colorado & Silverado EV Are North America Truck of the Year Finalists

Twin Falls Chevrolet is pleased to report that of the three finalists for the 2024 North American Car of the Year Award, two of them are Chevrolet models. The soon-to-be-available Silverado EV and the all-new 2024 Colorado, along with the Ford Super Duty Pickup, are all competing for the prestigious award. For the Colorado, this would be added to its previously won award, the prestigious 2024 Motor Trend Truck of the Year.

NACTOY President Jeff Gilbert commented, “Electric vehicles again make up more than half of our finalists. That shows how important they are to carmakers and how many more choices car buyers now have. But there is a lot of variety in this group, including a big work truck, a hybrid, and a family sedan.”

52 models were eligible for this year’s NACTOY awards, which has a separate winner in the car, truck, and utility vehicle categories. At the Detroit Auto Show, 25 semi-finalists were announced. The nine finalists, three in each category, were announced at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November. The NACTOY winners will be announced on January 4, 2024, at M1 Concourse in Pontiac, Michigan

What is NACTOY?

The 50 judges for the North American Car, Truck, and Utility Vehicle of the Year (NACTOY) competition consist of respected automotive journalists from multiple print, broadcast, and online automotive sources. The NACTOY awards date back to 1994 and are the longest-running, new-vehicle awards not associated with a single publication, website, or broadcast show.

Award eligibility requires a vehicle to be all-new or significantly redesigned in the specified model year. The models are judged based on their delivery of:

• Outstanding innovation
• Design
• Performance
• Driver satisfaction
• Value.

Winners Already

On January 4th, Chevrolet has a two out of three chance of taking home a trophy. It is worth noting that just making it to the semi-finalist stage makes a vehicle a winner, particularly if it is the only model in its category, such as full-size trucks for the Silverado EV and midsize trucks for the Colorado.
