2025 Equinox Redesign Changes the Game

New 2025 Chevrolet Equinox - 25th Anniversary

Compact crossovers are the best-selling automotive category in the U.S., which is why Equinox is one of the best-selling models at Twin Falls Chevrolet. Another reason is that it is a very good vehicle. However, things cannot stand still in this fiercely competitive segment, so for 2025, the Equinox will be completely redesigned inside and out. The new Equinox continues Chevrolet’s crossover transformation, producing a redesigned or significantly refreshed Trax, Trailblazer, Blazer, and Traverse in just the last two years.

More Dynamic Exterior

The first thing to notice is a distinctly more dynamic exterior, starting with a 2.3-inch wider body. The front-end design takes advantage of that broader canvas with a style inspired by Chevrolet’s full-size truck and SUV models. The traditional horizontal grille divide is either a chrome or body color depending on grade, and the upper grill is much smaller to the point that it is matched in height by the low-profile LED daytime running lights on either side. LED headlights are now tucked into the corners beside the lower grille.

The body surfacing is more athletic, with prominent bulges over the newly shaped wheel openings. The C-pillar stops short with a shark-fin shape and enables a canopy appearance to the roof when the newly available black roof is ordered. A character line starting rearward from the C-pillar defines the upper edge of pistol-shaped tail light clusters. Blacked-out trim and privacy glass on the rear-quarter and tailgate windows continue the canopy appearance.

“This generation of Equinox has taken on a broad-shouldered, athletic appearance that conveys confidence and versatility,” said Phil Zak, Executive Design Director, Global Chevrolet. “We leaned into distinct appearances and material selection for LT, RS, and ACTIV so everyone can see themselves in an Equinox.”

Equinox’s most sport-focused grade, the RS features black emblems and mirrors, an available black roof, a wider grille opening, and a high gloss finish on the grille bar and lower fascia. The look is enhanced with standard 19-inch Carbon Flash machined aluminum, and 20-inch wheels are available, a first for Equinox.

Interior Adds Refinement and Usability

The completely redesigned interior has a very modern upscale appearance and creates a spacious ambiance. The 11.3-inch infotainment touch screen is attached to, but distinctly separate from, the standard 11-inch digital configurable information center directly in front of the driver. The screen is powered by the responsive and intuitive Google Built-in operating system, which includes Google Maps and the user-friendly Google Assistant voice command system. As with smartphones, other compatible apps can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.

The screens and HVAC vents are against a soft, seat-color-matching surface that offers an upscale appearance. With a new take on an older idea, transmission selection is via Electronic Precision Shift on the right steering column, opening up space on the center console.

Other 2025 Equinox interior features include:

  • Engaging tactile materials and decorative trim with coordinated textures in the seats, instrument panels, doors, and storage areas
  • Standard heated steering wheel and heated front seats
  • An available Evotex seating upgrade for the base LT grade
  • Hidden storage under the cargo floor
  • Available wireless charging

The RS performance theme continues inside with distinctive Torch Red and Santorini Blue stitching on the Evotex seats, debossed “RS” logos on the front headrests, and a flat-bottom steering wheel. Ventilation for the front seats and heated outboard 2nd-row seats are available.

Drivetrain offers Selectable Drive Modes

Unchanged for the Equinox is the 1.5-liter turbocharged engine for all models. It produces 175 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque. The engine will be paired to a continuously variable transmission on front-wheel-drive models. All-wheel drive (AWD) models will have an eight-speed automatic transmission. RS and ACTIV grades will feature selectable driving modes, including Normal and Snow modes, plus an Off-Road mode for AWD models.

Chevrolet has not yet revealed the pricing for this 2025. Nor do we know when the first models start arriving in the Twin Falls Chevrolet inventory. Our best guess is sometime in the summer or early fall of 2024. If you wish, you can ask one of our sales professionals to inform you when either of that information is announced.
