Keeping the 2027 Chevrolet Bolt Affordable for Everyone

The return of the Chevrolet Bolt for 2027 is a cause for celebration. As the brand’s first fully electric vehicle, it made a bold statement to consumers looking for a practical, efficient, and wallet-friendly option.  

It has not only retained all of the good things that made the original Bolt EV and EUV a success – it has moved this new 2027 model further while becoming the most affordable electric vehicle in the U.S.A.  

How?  

For one, the 2027 Bolt had to improve upon the previous model. To do so, they focused on improving the range and charging system, which is why the 2027 Bolt comes with a North American Charging Standard (NACS) port. Most NACS charging stations charge at a much higher rate than the J1772 CCS standard. A quicker charge-up means more time on the road for longer trips.  

The result is a series of remarkable benchmarks. Now, the 2027 Bolt has an EPA-estimated range rated at 262 miles. It can also charge from 10 to 80 percent of battery state of charge in about 25 minutes at a DC Fast Charging station running at 150 kilowatts or more.  

The battery pack is also new to the 2027 Bolt. It uses Lithium Iron Phosphate cell chemistry, enabling faster charging and smarter energy consumption. It is also a more affordable composition that helps keep overall costs down for consumers.  

Supporting this improved charging infrastructure is a new-to-Bolt drive system. This single-motor system is rated at 210 horsepower, more than enough to propel this small electric hatchback across town and onto the interstate.  

Another key set of improvements were in the 2027 Bolt’s technology offerings. When the original Bolt launched, it introduced a new architecture now seen across the entire Chevrolet lineup. The introduction of the Blazer EV, Equinox EV, and Silverado EV has added yet another generation of technology and connectivity – including Google Built-in for its primary infotainment structure.  

The 2027 Bolt now offers a larger 11.3-inch center touchscreen, along with an 11-inch driver display. In addition, the Bolt can now be equipped with Super Cruise, bringing hands-free driving to our smallest EV.  

While all of these improvements may seem expensive, the 2027 Bolt is not.  The MSRP starts at under $28,000. You also have a choice of trim levels – LT and RS.
