The 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD is one of the finest trucks around, and whether you purchase one with the gas engine or the Duramax diesel, you will be able to tow pretty much anything while still sitting in opulent luxury and excellent everyday usability. However, SlashGear says, “Skip the gas and go for the turbo-diesel.” Choosing the gas engine gives you 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque, and you will be able to tow up to 16,000 pounds when properly equipped and optioned. However, the Duramax diesel will tow up to 20,000 pounds with its 470 horsepower and 975 lb-ft of torque. Torque is the main reason why the outlet thinks buyers will enjoy the Duramax.

Speaking of that torque, Davies talked about how it makes driving around town a breeze: “Around town, all that torque helps belie the Silverado HD’s heft. It’s not exactly a sport truck, but with peak twist arriving at just 1,600 rpm, it’ll gather pace with a surprising sense of urgency that the scale only exaggerates.”

In the technology department, the Silverado 2500HD has big, beautiful screens that make finding what you need easy, as well as big, physical buttons. Chris Davies highlighted the interior, saying, “The Silverado’s dashboard looks decently modern, courtesy of Chevy’s last refresh. In the case of this LTZ trim, that means a 13.4-inch touchscreen running Google Built-In, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A 12.3-inch display handles the driver’s gauge cluster. The software interface is easy to navigate, but Chevrolet doesn’t skimp on physical controls either.” 

So Much Storage 

The interior flourishes with tons of “cubbies, bins, and storage nooks,” making the Silverado HD even more usable for families. In addition to being used for work, the large truck can easily haul kids and all their school and sports equipment. Choosing the LTZ Convenience Package will give customers heated and ventilated seats, with the Convenience Package II giving rear passengers heated seats, too.
