There has been a lot of talk about the Tesla Cybertruck. While some have questioned it for its capability and design, there are people in Southern Idaho who actually own one.

If you are thinking about getting a Cybertruck, there is another battery-electric pickup truck you should consider instead – the Chevrolet Silverado EV.

Why a Silverado EV instead of a Cybertruck?

For one, it looks like a Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with a few design twists. The Silverado EV is designed to give Chevrolet customers – and any electric pickup truck customer – a visual familiarity that is advanced but functional.

On the Silverado EV, you will find that the lighting signature front and back is larger and more functional. The Chevrolet Bowtie badge actually lights up, as well. The bed is integrated into the body, yet strong enough to manage payloads. The body has no sharp edges, and the Silverado EV comes in more than one color.

The most significant piece of functionality you will find on the Silverado EV is the Multi-Flex Midgate with Pass-Through. It enables the 5’11” bed to be extended into the rear part of the cabin for longer items up to 10’10” in length. When you put the Midgate back up, you have plenty of rearward vision to see through.

Underneath the Silverado EV’s body is the powerful Ultium drive system. It produces 754 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque with Wide Open Watts. It has a range of up to 440 miles on a fully charged battery, yet it can also go 0-60 MPH in just 4.4 seconds. Plus, the Silverado EV can tow up to 10,000 pounds.

Inside the Silverado EV, you have plenty of information right in front of you with our digital instrument cluster. Next to it is our 17.7” infotainment touchscreen, which features easy-to-access functions and connectivity. You have more screen area available than a singular center-located one. Plus, the controls of the Silverado EV are much easier to use and comprehend.

The Multi-Flex Midgate with Pass-Through extends the bed of the Chevy Silverado EV to give another 5'11 inches of space to carry impressive payload lengths.

We can talk about the advantages of price, quality, and durability. After all, it’s a Chevrolet. Not only do our pickup trucks last the longest, but we have the most loyal customers of any of the pickup truck brands – electric ones included.
