Ten Features Kelley Blue Book Loves on The Chevrolet Silverado EV

Among battery-electric pickup trucks, the Chevrolet Silverado EV offers more innovative features in a very functional, practical, and handsome package.
Recently, Kelley Blue Book had a chance to drive a Silverado EV. They found ten things they love about our electric pickup truck. Let’s see which features they love the most.

Standard Multi-Flex Midgate: This feature is one of the more useful parts of the Silverado EV. Removing the Midgate completely allows you to load longer items up to 10 feet 10 inches. The Midgate itself takes 20 minutes to detach and put back into place.

Available Multi-Flex Tailgate: Perhaps one of the most innovative features in terms of cargo management and access. It shares this feature with the Silverado 1500 and Heavy Duty pickup trucks. You can create an extended backstop for even longer items or access the Midgate from the outside with the steps fully deployed. It is also power-operated.

“Liquid-metal wrapper”: This is how KBB described the design of the Silverado EV. The entire truck is built in one piece, more for structure and purpose than for looks. The way the body flows with its aerodynamic front end and extensions from the cab over the “back” part of the box. In all, it is set apart from the Silverado 1500 while adding more airflow to help increase the battery’s driving range.

Performance: The Silverado EV RST model has two electric motors that produce 754 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque. This kind of power delivers up to 10,000 pounds of maximum towing and a maximum payload of 1,500 pounds.

Range: GM estimates that the Silverado EV RST has a driving range of 440 miles. If you charge up at a DC Fast Charging station, you can recoup 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes at its highest state of charge. Level 2 charging will return 34 miles per hour using a home current.
4-wheel steering: Pickup trucks usually take several tries to get out of a tight spot when turning. Or have to make a wide turn at an intersection. In the Silverado EV, the 4-wheel steering system will increase agility to handle tighter turns with ease. That includes the bends.
Truck as a power source: The Silverado EV has ten outlets to plug in everything from small power tools to your entire home – in an emergency, of course. If you use your Silverado EV for work, there will be no need to hunt for a power source on-site. Your pickup truck becomes the power source. It’s the same thing when you’re tailgating or camping.
Digital rearview mirror: With visual technology improving by the day, you will enjoy the clarity of the digital rearview mirror. It also comes in handy when your box is loaded beyond the rear window line.
Digital displays: The driver and your passengers will appreciate the number of screens available to them. The driver gets an 11-inch digital driver information display and gauge cluster, along with a 14-inch head-up display. However, the centerpiece is a 17.7-inch infotainment touchscreen – a hub for connectivity, entertainment, and navigation options.
Super Cruise: It is one of the most useful features that comes into play over longer journeys. The system can steer, accelerate, and brake without the need for the driver to intervene. It can also execute safe lane changes on its own.
