Traditionally, the gap in price between an electric vehicle and a comparable and an internal combustion model may seem insurmountable to most shoppers. The Chevrolet Bolt helped turn that notion on its ear, and we’re happy to inform you that the 2027 Bolt has returned to the Chevrolet lineup, once again giving customers a spacious, stylish, efficient EV without breaking the bank.

What is the difference between the 2027 Bolt and previous models?  The quick answer is “a lot.” The 2027 Bolt may look very similar to the last iteration, but look closely – the newer model is larger and boasts revised front and rear fascia designs.

Inside is where you will find the most differences between the old and the new 2027 Bolt. You will find a lot of the current design elements found on its EV siblings – the Equinox EV and Blazer EV. It starts with a new 11-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11.3-inch infotainment touchscreen on the redesigned dashboard. The infotainment system is driven by Google Built-in, which utilizes Google Assistant for voice commands and navigation.

The seats in the 2027 Bolt are upholstered in EvoTex material, while the new sporty Bolt RS trim level adds red stitching accents. No matter which trim you choose, Bolt provides room for five passengers, along with 16.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats. That expands to 56.2 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down.

Powering the 2027 Bolt is a single 210-horsepower drive motor, which drives the front wheels. The lithium-ion phosphate 65-kilowatt-hour battery pack is fed through a new North American Charging Standard (NACS) port. Charging speed has increased to 150-kilowatts, enabling quicker recharging at public DC Fast Charging stations. You can recoup 10-80% state of charge in just 26 minutes. In all, the 2027 Bolt is rated for a range of 255 miles from a full battery.

With the new NACS port, you now have the ability to charge at over 250,000 available locations across North America, including Tesla Superchargers across Southern Idaho.

Perhaps one of the coolest bits of technology on the 2027 Bolt is perfect for long road trips, as the car is available with the Super Cruise hands-free driver assist technology. This adds another level of safety and security, instilling more confidence behind the wheel.

Recently, MotorTrend took its first drive in the 2027 Bolt. Overall, editors said that it is “smart EV buy” because Bolt’s “value is hard to ignore.” In all, MotorTrend liked the “improved charging hardware” thanks to the integration of Chevrolet’s current EV architecture.
