New Chevrolet Colorado Trail Boss

Pickup trucks are all the rage these days, and the all-new 2024 Chevrolet Colorado has taken that to a new level. You no longer need to buy a larger Silverado. In a recent review by Motor1.com, they said the Colorado is a “seriously capable truck.”

Motor1 Review

Motor1.com is a well-known and respected website that reviews cars and the automotive industry as a whole. They took a 2024 Chevy Colorado Trail Boss for a comprehensive review. They found it was an excellent, affordable off-road option for people who can’t swing the wild off-road ZR2 or get a Silverado Trail Boss or ZR2, saying, “You really won’t find another truck this capable for the price.”

Trim Levels & Power

The 2024 Colorado is available in five different trim levels, as well as two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive, including WT (Work Truck), LT, Trail Boss, Z71, and the legendary ZR2. WT and LT models are standard with 2WD and have available 4WD, while the rest of the lineup comes standard with 4WD. The base WT and LT models feature a 2.7-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that produces 237 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. However, they are available with the 2.7-liter TurboMax engine that puts out 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. All other trim levels come standard with the TurboMax. All models also have an 8-speed automatic transmission.

What Motor1 Says

“The reason you buy the Trail Boss, though, is for its plentiful off-road kit. Four-wheel drive and 32-inch all-terrain tires come standard along with a 2.0-inch suspension lift, a 3.0-inch wider track, an automatic-locking rear differential, and hill descent control. Adding a skid plate is a $995 option. The tires, lift, and bodywork, result in a 30.5-degree approach angle, a 22.4-degree departure, and 21 degrees of breakover … excellent at this price within the mid-size pickup segment.”

Towing Capacity

The new Colorado is one of the best in its segment when it comes to towing. At 7,700 lbs, it can tow with the best of them. This means buyers shouldn’t worry about what the Colorado lacks or can’t do but what extra hobbies they will add to their lives to fully enjoy the abilities of their award-winning mid-size Chevy truck.
