Chevrolet Adds Silverado HD TrailBoss for 2025

For the 2024 model year, a ZR2 model was available on the Colorado, Silverado, and Silverado HD model lines. Recognizing that there is a market that seeks off-road capability but either lacks the budget or the spare time for off-road recreation, the Colorado and Silverado have also had the Trail Boss grade. This is a mid-step between a 4WD model and the ZR2 in off-road capability. Twin Falls Chevrolet is happy to inform you that the Trail Boss grade will be added to the Silverado HD model line for the 2025 model year.
Two Trail Boss Grades
A Trail Boss variant will be available in both the LT and LTZ grades. That places it squarely in the middle of the lineup, above the WT and Custom trims and below the ZR2 and High Country trims. Thus, the standard engine will be the 6.6-liter gas V8, which produces 401 horsepower and lb-ft of torque. The 6.6-liter Duramax Diesel V8 will be optional, which produces 470 horsepower and a truly impressive 975 lb-ft of torque. Both engines will be paired with an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission.
The Z71 Off-Road Package currently available on the LT and LTZ will be standard on the Trail Boss, which will include:
- Off-road suspension with Rancho™ twin tube shocks
- Hill Descent Control
- Skid plates for all the vulnerable areas underneath
- 17” LT265/70R17E All-Terrain black wall spare tire.
The Trail Boss models will ride on 20-inch 6-split-spoke black wheels with BF Goodrich all-terrain tires. Advance images also show red recovery hooks and the current Dark Essentials Package, which features a black finish for the Chevrolet bowtie emblem on the grill and the “2500 HD” badge. “Z71” badges will remain on the front fenders, and “Trail Boss” decals will decorate the bedsides and tailgate. There is no indication of any interior changes to the LT or LTZ trims.
Other 2025 Silverado HD Changes
Having such an extensive model year change for 2024, other 2025 Silverado HD lineup changes are relatively few. Front and Rear Park Assist is now available on the WT, Custom, and LT trims and will become standard on the ZR2. The Dark Essentials Package will now be available on the Custom trim. The Midnight Edition Package includes a new 20-inch wheel design, and adaptive cruise control will be standard on the High Country Trim.
Expect the Silverado HD Trail Boss to be added to the Twin Falls Chevrolet inventory in the summer of 2024. Prices and any additional features will be announced closer to that launch time.
